WE02 – Display and Analyze IDocs

WE02 is the go-to transaction in SAP for displaying and analyzing IDocs (Intermediate Documents). It's widely used for monitoring inbound and outbound interface data in EDI and system integrations.

Module:

SAP Cross-Module (MM, SD, FI, PI, EDI)

When to Use:

• To check whether an IDoc was successfully posted or has errors
• To analyze IDoc structure, control record, and segment data
• To troubleshoot data exchange between SAP and non-SAP systems

What Happens in WE02?

• You enter IDoc number, message type, or date
• System shows IDoc status (e.g. 03 = passed to port, 53 = posted, 51 = error)
• You can drill down into header and segment-level details

Pro Tip:

Status 51 = error during posting. Click on the Status Record to view the error message and troubleshoot (e.g., missing material, vendor, cost center).
