Create Security in D365fo | Microsoft dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

 Create Security in D365FO


Security roles can be used in D365 Finance and Operations to provide and restrict users from performing specific tasks. You can create security roles either directly in the Finance and Operations environment or through its development tool, Visual Studio.

1. Create a Privilege

Right Click on Project-->Select Add-->New Item-->Expand D365 Items-->Select Security-->Click on Security Privileges

Name : MProSecurityPrivilege



Right Click on Created : MProSecurityPrivilege

Label Name : SecurityPrivilege

Drag and Drop : Display Menu Items to MProSecurityPrivilege -->Entry Point

Display Menu Item : Monitor

Click on Save.

02. Create Security Duty

Right Click on Project-->Select Add-->New Item-->Expand D365 Items-->Select Security-->Click on Security Duty

Name : MProSecurityDuty



Right Click on Created : MProSecurityDuty

Label Name : MProSecurityDuty

Drag and Drop : MProSecurityPrivilege to MProSecurityDuty -->Duty

SecurityPrivilege : MProSecurityPrivilege

Click on Save.

03. Create Security Role

Right Click on Project-->Select Add-->New Item-->Expand D365 Items-->Select Security-->Click on Security Role

Name : MProSecurityRole



Right Click on Created : MProSecurityRole 

Label Name : MProSecurityRole

Drag and Drop : MProSecurityDuty to MProSecurityRole -->Duty

SecurityDuty : MProSecurityRole

Click on Save.

Right Click on Project and click on Build Solution.

04. Add Role to User

Open Browser -->D365

Click on System Administration--->Click on Users-->Choose User Id--->Click on Assign Roles-->Search Created Role --->Select created Role-->MProSecurity Role-->Click on OK
